Description
Speak Up I Can’t Hear You® – The Voice of a Woman was created to encourage women to speak up about their life experiences, their purpose, their needs. This book encourages all women to create their own platform and tell their story. Our voice has the potential to change the world and that is so powerful and so meaningful. Women are born with an instinct like no other. We are aware when something is not right. We have a heightened awareness. Speaking is an inherited trait for those of us who have the ability to use our voices. Our vocal apparatus was developing when we were able to hear words spoken around us. There are so many other ways of communication; however, when we speak, words bring life.

Dr. Neisa R. Jenkins debut book serves as a bold reminder of the importance of sharing our experiences big or small while living a life on purpose. I overstand the impact of the loss of a child and have embraced the upside of that faith filled life journey. This book is the evidence that there is an upside to all the things of life. Dr. Jenkins touched on breaking generational norms/curses when she addressed being reared to “speak when spoken to.” Recognizing an individual’s personality play a huge role in how that rule is interpreted. Too many people had their voices rendered mute before they formed their first opinion. I can attest that I too choose not to follow tradition in how my children communicate in efforts to not only make sure they are empowered to speak up. But also, to ensure they give truth the power and stage it deserves no matter the audience. I raise my children to correct me in love because Mommy’s make mistakes to. We are all in great need of giving and receiving grace so that we can “live, love, fight, fall out and fall back in again.”

I absolutely enjoyed reading this book! It spoke to me in so many ways because Dr. Jenkins’ experiences mentioned in the book were so similar to my own. I could not put the book down until I finished it! It encouraged me to do the journaling and find ways to speak up and have my voice heard! Thank you Dr. Jenkins for SPEAKING UP and being heard!!!
